African Jazz invites O.K. Jazz - Planet Ilunga
For the very first time, a compilation brings together in one album the protagonists of the two bands who marked the evolution of Congolese popular music in the 1960s and 70s, that is generally classified into two major schools: African Jazz & OK Jazz. Planet Ilunga brings with this new release the two temperaments and ambiances together, one commonly referred to as ‘fiesta’, the other as ‘odemba’, both seeking their own sublimity or ideal.
