Tussenruimte
Visual identiy - Poster
Tussenruimte (= the space in between), is a creative hub and research project founded by Berchem-based studio Lena Architecten. By providing a home to artists in the form of gallery, co-working area and ateliers, it functions as a breathing room for creative experimentation. For the inaugural multidisciplinary art festival, I designed a visual identity and a poster rooted directly in the building’s own DNA. I deconstructed recurring architectural elements, such as circles, rasters, curved doors and a hidden “heart", and, fueled by my passion for patterns and abstraction, I developed them into a suite of colorful shapes. These forms became the primary building blocks for the festival’s visual language, reflecting the synergy between the artists, the public, and the physical space itself.
The logo serves as a visual anchor by translating one of the building’s most striking physical and non-physical features into a unique, powerful symbol: the T reflects the characteristic arched doors found throughout the interior, while also serving as a “bridge” connecting the building’s various functions. By applying this form across a dynamic color palette, the identity gains the flexibility needed to represent a wide variety of artistic activities, whether a workshop or a gallery opening, while ensuring the hub remains instantly recognizable.
